Ethan took me to an island.
“Luna, this island was supposed to be your six-year anniversary gift.”
Ethan pulled out a photo album. The exact same one I’d burned.
“Look at our love story,” he said. “We were so in love back then. Don’t you remember how we used to
I cut him off, no mercy.”I forgot those memories years ago.”
I paused.”All I remember is you inventing that ‘healing ritual’ scam for Chloe. Letting her wear my wedding dress. Locking me in the sauna for her. Kidnapping my mom for her. Forcing my blood out for her.”
Every single word twisted like a knife deep in Ethan’s heart.
But I wasn’t done. My voice, deadly calm, made my words feel even more brutal to Ethan.
“And for Chloe, you pulled my mom’s oxygen tube. You killed her.”
Ethan’s face went ghost-white. “I’ll make it right,” he kept mumbling.
I didn’t buy it.
That pain was etched into my blood and bones. How the hell could he ever make up for that?
I started to turn away, but Ethan snatched my arm.
“I’ll make it right. Now.”
Ethan went into the sauna room and cranked the temp straight up to 70°C.
Soon, his skin was cherry-red, covered in blood blisters. He slapped bloody handprints all over the glass door.
I just stood there, watching, totally numb.
Ethan practically crawled out, clutching his throbbing chest, shaking like a leaf. He’d nearly suffocated. Only then did he get a taste of the hell I’d been through.
But he didn’t rest. He ordered them to draw his blood next-six full bags. His lips were ghost-white, utterly drained, yet he still smiled at me.
My face stayed blank. I couldn’t care less if Ethan lived or died.
Just like he hadn’t given a shit about my mom’s life or death back then.
Ethan was practically blacking out from the pain. He stared at me, disbelief twisting his features, as if he couldn’t grasp my cruelty. Even though he started it. Even though he totally deserved it.
“Luna… are you really this cold? Do you even have a heart?”
That hit an old nerve. My eyelashes gave a slight tremor.
“You’re damn right,” I said.”My heart isn’t made of flesh. I’m running on an artificial one. The real one? Long gone.”
Ethan froze. His mind went completely blank.
“What?!”
I whispered, “After you forced me to give Chloe blood, my heart gave out. I’ve been running on an artificial one ever since. Still haven’t found a suitable donor to this day.”

Every word I spoke drained the color from Ethan’s face. By the end, he was ghost-white.
The doctors said I only have two years left, Ethan. I cherish every single day I have left, so I’m not wasting another second on you.”
Ethan dropped to his knees!
I’m so sorry… Luna, I had no idea…”
He’d always thought my mom was the only issue between us. He never realized how completely he’d destroyed me…
Don’t call me heartless. His screw-ups were just too unforgivable to fix!
“Ethan, if you’re truly sorry, then let me go.”
My face was as calm as stone. Ethan, though, was sobbing uncontrollably.
“Fine.” He took a deep, shuddering breath.
As I boarded the private jet, he stared at my retreating back, as if trying to etch my image into his memory forever. The moment the cabin door closed, Ethan let out a relieved, grim smile.
BANG! He shot himself.
The deafening gunshot ripped through the air. My fingers twitched, my body stiffened for a second. But I didn’t turn around.
Noah was waiting when I landed in Avalon.
“Luna, I was about to come snatch you myself. Can’t believe he just let you go. Don’t worry, I’m beefing up security. He won’t ever bother you again.”
“No need,” I said, voice flat.”He’s dead.”
Noah froze. Didn’t ask for details.
Ethan’s death blew up worldwide. A titan, gone overnight. Everyone reeled, shook to their core.
His mother, Mrs. Carter Sr., still at the temple, got the news. Devastated, she swallowed a spoon, ending her life that very day.
Noah threw another wedding for me.
This time, everything went perfectly. The people who’d mess it up were gone.
After the ceremony, they embraced, sealing it with a deep kiss. They held each other so tight, as if to meld into one another, flesh and bone.
Two years later, I opened my tenth location.
I watched the constant stream of people outside, a satisfied smile spreading across my face.
I calmly glanced at the calendar. My time was almost up. Getting to spend this amazing time with Noah? I had zero regrets.
Then, the door burst open.
Noah burst in, breathless, eyes wide with excitement. “Luna, I finally found a heart!”
The calendar dropped from my hand, clattering to the floor.
The surgery was a complete success.

Post-op, all my vitals were perfectly normal.
Noah beamed. This is incredible, Luna. We can be together forever now”
Lying on the hospital bed, I gazed at him, my eyes overflowing with love.
“Yeah, I whispered. Our whole lives ahead of us.”
Time flew by. Decades blurred by.
One warm summer night, I lay in bed, just like any other, and peacefully drifted off.
But this sleep was different.
The moment I drifted off, the world reeled. Then, a powerful, unseen force snatched at me, dragging me down like an endless whirlpool.
When I finally snapped back to consciousness, I found myself in a bizarre, otherworldly space.
My eyes widened, jaw dropping at the vast, endless sea of stars stretching out before me.
Suddenly, a voice boomed in my ear.
“Welcome, Unit 10017, back to the Main God Space.”
Suddenly, a flood of memories, stretching back through countless ages, slammed back into me.
It all clicked.
Oh right. I was a system agent, tasked with hopping through dimensions, fixing broken mini-worlds, and collecting regret points from the male leads.
Right before my eyes, a shimmering door, forged from pure light, began to materialize.
It was the time-space portal, leading to the next loop.
No hesitation. I strode right up to the enigmatic white portal and tapped the ‘Depart’ button on its glowing screen.
Instantly, the data on the screen whirled, and a soft, mysterious white glow pulsed from it.
I was swept away by the shifting currents of time and space, pulled into the next world…
This is the end of the story.
